Leave it closed
Most likely a snapped spring.
What it usually means
The spring above the door does most of the lifting. When it breaks it goes off like a gunshot, and the door suddenly feels far too heavy for you or the motor.
What to do now
Stop pressing the remote. A motor that keeps trying can strain its gears. Leave the door where it is and send us a photo of the spring above the door.
Don't try to lift it or touch the spring yourself. Springs hold a lot of force.
Keep clear
A cable or roller has come off.
What it usually means
A lifting cable has jumped off its drum, or a roller has left the track. One side then drops lower than the other.
What to do now
Don't run the motor and don't drive or walk under the door. If the car is inside, phone us: we're open 24 hours.
A skew door can drop. Keep children and pets away from it.
Motor, spring or power.
What it usually means
The motor is getting power but can't move the door. Often it's a broken spring (the door is too heavy), sometimes the motor itself, or the door is still in manual mode.
What to check
Is there power at the plug? Has the manual release been pulled? Does the door look level? Then send us a short video of the motor trying. It helps us bring the right parts.
If you heard a bang first, read "Loud bang" above and leave the door closed.

What it usually means
Anything from a motor fault or a power cut to a broken spring or cable. An open garage is a security risk, so don't wait for the morning.
What to do now
Call 061 663 1330. We're open 24 hours, every day. Tell us what the door did last and whether you heard a bang.
Don't pull it down by hand if it's skew or you heard a bang.
Often a quick fix.
What it usually means
A flat remote battery, a remote that has lost its code, or a problem at the motor's receiver.
What to check
Does the wall button still open the door? Does a second remote work? If the wall button works, it's the remote. We can code new remotes to your motor.
Time for a service.
What it usually means
Worn rollers or hinges, dry parts, loose fittings or tired springs. Small things that get worse if left.
